The seasons have changed here in Panama, we have transitioned into our dry season, the sun is blisteringly hot, the landscape is turning into a savanna like yellow and the inshore action is really starting to heat up as masses of bait run the shorelines.

This week we welcomed Pato, José, Italó, Eddy and David from Peru, unfortunately due to a weekend quarantine the guys would miss 2 days of fishing, that being said this bunch of super keen anglers still wanted to make the journey to us to fish for 4 days, of which they capitalised on and produced some very consistent fishing across all methods throughout the week.

Both speed and slow jigging produced some great sport with lots of AJ’s, Fortune Jacks and various Pompanos among other species also. Some big fish got the better of our anglers tackle as powerful big AJ’s tested the gear to the Max.

The topwater fishing had its moments this week when our guests found frenzy activity from Roosters, Jacks, Pompanos and more which makes for none stop fun! A host of other species were also caught during these sessions and the formidable reef king the Cubera snapper made its presence a number of times as good specimens exploded onto their lures and shown them why they are the boss of these waters! Even with the strongest tackle and quality gear you often need a lot of luck and some well played skill to prize a big Cubera to the boat.

Despite only fishing 4 days the group found some fantastic fishing and enjoyed exchanging stories over a cold drink and fresh sashimi each evening, well done guys!

This week proved very productive for Amberjacks with lots of nice fish falling to our anglers lures.

Solid AJ action provides some immense sport, some bigger specimens proved hard work to get to the boat and found the better of our anglers gear, a big AJ takes no prisoners!
