We started fishing again last week ! For the first week of the season in Pedasi we had the pleasure to meet and host 3 top guys from Peru. Some great variety was had, some good fish were landed and some better ones were lost. Revenge round is already set for January. As always, all fish were caught on artificial lures, proving once again that you don't need bait when you know what you are doing and you are in good hands !

Here is a cool little video of a big cubera snapper caught slow-jigging in 35 meters of water. Check out how the fish is pulling the boat after the strike ! Here are some pictures of the fishing this August at the Panafishing lodge on the Tuna Coast of Panama. check out the great variety caught by regular guest Raul: We also hosted another group but fishing was tougher for them. Also, too many fish were lost because of the use of barbless hooks. While these are ok for "constantly pulling fish" like tunas and GT, They certainly are a very bad idea when fishing for roosterfish and cubera, which at some points during the fight will stop and shake their heads underwater. Anyway, even during one of those slower week, there's always some good fish and action to be had. A slow week on the Tuna Coast would be considered a good one anywhere else ! There's a reason we say the green season is great for variety:
This week we had the pleasure to welcome Sportfishing magazine and Savage Gear Americas teams. Numbers were not great at all but it was a good week in terms of chances at trophy fish. Unfortunately we missed most of those opportunities. I am not blaming on the anglers, though: I went fishing too and was the one who lost the most trophy fish, basically 1 or 2 every single day of the week (I know, pretty bad cock-up to do when you have the Sportfishing magazine photographers with you, but hey it's fishing and a lot of things do go wrong !). Here are some of the pictures, for the others you will have to buy an issue of Sportfishing mag in a few months...
