Après 8 années d’activité au Panama sur la Tuna Coast, j'ai décidé de passer la main a Pierre-Andre et Clémence qui seront désormais les nouveaux propriétaires du lodge Panafishing de Pedasi. Un grand merci aux nombreux clients qui m'ont fait confiance et qui sont devenus des habitués pour certains. J’espère que vous serez toujours aussi nombreux a venir pêcher sur la Tuna Coast et que j'aurais le plaisir de vous revoir puisque je continuerai de vivre a Pedasi.

Nous profitons du communiqué de Pascal pour nous présenter et faire un bilan sur les points forts du lodge. Nous sommes un jeune couple de trentenaires avec une passion pour la pêche et l’océan en général. Apres 2 années passées en mer sur un voilier, nous avons décidé de poser nos valises au Panama et de reprendre le lodge de Pascal. Notre volonté est de gérer le lodge dans la continuité de ce que Pascal avait mis en place et de continuer de miser sur les points forts qui ont fait la réputation du lodge :
-l’expérience, le professionnalisme et la bonne humeur des capitaines Javier, Eduardo et Chino, qui guident pour Panafishing depuis 2006 et pêchent ces eaux depuis leur enfance
-la variété des prises et des techniques puisque nous avons la chance d'avoir accès aux espèces pélagiques en plus des espèces côtières emblématiques de l’Amérique Centrale. La côte de Pedasi est particulièrement bien fournie en thons jaunes et mérite son surnom de « Tuna Coast »
-la faible pression de pêche sur notre zone, qu'elle soit sportive (seule organisation de pêche sportive dans la région et aucune marina) ou commerciale (interdiction des filets et longliners dans les eaux de Pedasi)
-un prix raisonnable
-enfin, un lodge très agréable et convivial dont la logistique est rodée par 8 années d'exploitation. Nous tournons avec 2 super pangas et 2 catamarans de 26 pieds tout juste refaits à neuf. Le quatrième bateau est un bateau de réserve qui nous permet de garantir autant que possible le bon déroulement du séjour de nos hôtes
Ainsi, que les habitués se rassurent, nous n'avons aucune intention de chambouler le fonctionnement général du lodge ou les prix pratiqués. Notre seule ambition est d’améliorer le niveau de confort général de l’hébergement , et à terme de faire un effort particulier sur la manière de pratiquer le catch-and-release, afin d'assurer les meilleures chances de survie à nos compagnons de jeu.
Côté nouveautés pour la saison prochaine, nous proposerons du matériel de qualité à la location, ainsi qu'à la vente un kit de leurres adapté aux conditions de pêche du moment afin que les pêcheurs qui le souhaitent puissent venir les mains dans les poches.

We would like to take the opportunity to introduce ourselves and look back at what has made the success of the lodge. We are a young couple in their thirties with a passion for fishing and all things ocean. After a 2 year cruise on our sailboat, we have decided to settle in Panama and takeover Panafishing lodge. Our will is to carry on with what Pascal Artieda had implemented and continue to make the most of our organization's strengthes :
-Our biggest asset are our captains. These guys used to be what we would call, with all the respect that implies. « local fishermen ». They have been navigating and fishing these waters since they were kids. When Pascal Artieda created the lodge in 2006, he introduced them to modern fishing gear and techniques and guiding strategies. They have been guiding for Panafishing ever since, always displaying great professionalism and a good mood. We are glad and proud to have them aboard and our clients love them.
-The variety of catches and techniques used since we are lucky enough to have access to pelagic species in addition to the coastal species that made Central America's fishing famous. Our waters are alive with tunas and the place deserve it's « Tuna Coast » nickname.
-The low fishing pressure in our area, wether it comes from sportfishing (we are the only sportfishing operation in the area and there is no marina or all weather anchorages), or commercial fishing (no nets or longliners allowed here)
-A very reasonnable pricing
-Finally, a pleasant lodge with a family feel and all desirable comfort. Our logistic is proven by 8 years of operation. We work with 4 26 foot fishing boats : 2 super pangas and 2 twin vee cats. The fourth boat is a backup boat that allows us to guarantee a trouble-free stay to our customers.
Our Americans friends should be aware that we do very little trolling, if any. We focus on popping and jigging, with some live-baiting in season to target the biggest specimens.
For the upcoming season, we will have quality gear available for renting, and also offer for sale a lure kit adapted to the fishing conditions. Our fishermen will thus be able to travel without equipment.
